Well now, the FDA will be regulating tobacco.
Maybe we will finally start getting those huge warning labels like Jimbo and Peter get.

This is gonna be a sad time for smokers. The unfortunate outcome is that ALL smokers will be lumped under the same stigma as cigarettes, which I agree are not the best health alternative. The part that bothers me is this part: quote:
... the agency would be able to regulate the contents of tobacco products, make their ingredients public, prohibit flavoring, require much larger warning labels and strictly control or prohibit marketing campaigns, especially those geared toward children.
There go all those wonderful floral and aromatic blends.......<sigh> Almost all pipe tobaccos have *some* topping or flavoring added. Banning these will destroy our favorite blends. Bad news kiddies....bad news indeed.

I was thinking the same thing Ted, but I hope the idea is that they can and not that they will. I believe the big push right now is related to cigaretts and kids, could be the idea here is to make cigeretts less appealing to those that have not started yet. At any rate I plan to keep stocking up while I can. There is an upside here. Remember it is a federal agency and that means it will be a couple of years before they even decide what direction to go.
