Empty Tin Survey...

Well I have been smoking a pipe for aprox. 6 months now and I was going through my baccy stash cleaning out empty Tins.....Judging by said empty Tins the baccy most reached for right now at my house is: #1-Squadron Leader #2-Evening Stroll #3-FVF #4-FMOTT #5 McClellands Holiday Spirit #6-McClelland Best Of Show #7-Captain Black White Label. These surprised me as I have over 80 baccy samples many of wich I would consider superior to some on this list. I have decided that What all these blends have in common is I know exactly what pipe in my 20 pipe rotation will smoke this blend the best. Not sure this is of intrest to anyone, but thought I would share, empty tins do not lie. emoticon

Actually quite interesting.

I find myself reaching for the same pipes and tobaccos a lot too. I have a *lot* of open stuff and a *lot* of pipes, but about a dozen of each (if that) see the most use. You would think I could thin the herd......... emoticon

Yep - it's weird. I have a whole bunch of baccy open in mason jars (like 20) and somehow it is always the VA's and Vapers that seem to go fastest - FVF, 2015, Old Gowrie, Marlin Flake, Kajun Kake, etc, and now Union Square too.

Like you said Ben, it's not that I don't relish the other ones (I even like some of them more than some of the VA's!) but I think it is the fact that a lot of the other English, Balkan, etc blends are bigger, heavier baccys that for me mean after dinner or late evening smokes. Whereas the VA's and Vapers are all-days smokes for me.

Another "me too" here. I find certain pipe/tobacco combinations just work together.
