My cigar stash
While Brenda was looking through some pics the other day so I could put them on CD's, she asked about some I had of cigars. After looking at them I remembered that I took them to put on the forum so I may as well do it now. For some reason I didn't take pics of my other wooden desktop humidor or it's contents. It has assorted brands like one of the pics below shows.
I don't smoke cigars very much these days and am no expert by any stretch of the imagination. My stash looks very paltry compared to "real" cigar smokers. I will sometimes go for 2-3 months without smoking one unless it's while riding the tractor and naturally it's difficult to really enjoy them during that time. I usually smoke the T/Paretos riding the tractor because they have a good flavor that I don't have to think about. When I'm smoking a very nice cigar I like to be able to sit and really enjoy the different nuances, flavors, etc.
The first pic has the Opus X across the bottom, Fuente 8-5-8 Maduros across the top and various Fuentes on each side. The OpusX are difficult to find much of the time and are priced rather steep with some in the 20.00 range. Just the boxes they come in are sought after. The youngest of these I have is in the 6 year range. They are good, tasty and some of them are strong but IMO highly rated but that may be because of the availability or rather lack of it.
The 8-5-8's are pretty good smokes especially at the price range of somewhere around 5.00 (from what I remember) but for some reason they are also hard to find at various times. I think some of the larger volume etailers has a good supply but I've noticed them out sometimes when I checked.
The next pic is of some Tamara Paretos in one of my humidors. These cigars are bought from Thompson and are a very good smoke at a price of somewhere around the 3.0 mark if bought in the 25 pack. I haven't bought any in several years and although they are dark when bought you can see these are "very" black and shiny.
A few of the Cubans. The box is a sampler that's 4-5 years old and never been opened.
Various brands such as Partagas, Padron, Onyx, Ashton, Don Tomas, CAO, Punch, etc. The Helix have only been on the market for 2-3(I think) and are also a decent smoke for the price range of under 5.00. I've only smoked the maduros so can't attest to how good the others are. These are also my tractor smokes.
The last pic is of the tupperdore which has many different brands and also some packages. Because my wooden humidors are full I made the tupperdore to hold the overflow.

Re: My cigar stash
Larry, you just made my mouth water!!!!
ive aquired a taste for some of the stouter maduros, like the partagas black and Hoyo-Excalibur, but also some of the other smoother sticks, like the macanudo maduro (which i see you had some of. if you havent tried them, do! theyre delicious), San Louis Rey Reserva Especiale, Cohiba Limited Reserve...the Onyx Vintage 97 is a very smooth, buttery smoke too.

Re: My cigar stash
the only Partagas i have had is the black label. i would absoloutely LOVE to find some cuban Partagas Serie D. i hear they are wonderful.
as far as Cubans go, there is one man that i hold in the most highest regards as an authority on cubans, and thats a man named Chuck that i know from a ciga board. he never smokes a cigar unless it is cuban (he has connections that he has had for over 20 years) and unles he has personally had it maturing and resting in his own humidor for no less than 5 years. he has some unopened boxes that were packaged in '97.

Re: My cigar stash
You are welcome to put them in one of my humidors but you can get Mina to make you a tupperdore much easier and they would be at home unlike the one you left here during your visit that I forgot to send with your stummels.
I'll be glad to give the directions for making one and will send her some PG already mixed up at a much lower cost than it can be bought with your next shipment.

Re: My cigar stash
Okay, what is a tupperdore? I figure it has something to do with tupperware. I am getting a box of Cubans that My son-in-law picked up in Dubai. Don't even know what kind yet but will need somewhere to store them correctly. I'd appreciate the plans Larry as being Cubans I'm sure no matter what they are they won't be cheap. Don't want them to turn into useless sticks for sure. Thanks in advance. I know nothing about cigars besides knowing That I do like the occasional cigar.
