German Pipemakers: Frank Stollenwerk

Hi all,

here is the next german pipemaker I want to introduce to you:

Frank Stollenwerk makes pipes for some years now as a hobby.

First I saw his pipes on the internet base of Volker Bier. That was early in 2006.

At this time his pipes were nice but not extraordinary. He was not a beginner but also not a master.

In June 2006 I first met Frank personally on a small pipeconvent and see some of his newer pipes. Wow! Much more better than the first I saw!

Since this time I met Frak on a few more shows and evrytime I´m astonished of his pipes.

Today his pipes are very well formed. He works with bamboo and sometimes with Morta. His pipes are very elegant today, very light and now there is a own style in his pipes. The finish is mostly beautiful.

I think he is on the way to become one of the best pipecarvers in Germany.

If you want to see more, please look at his website:

All the best

Tom
