Wine and Latakia

I accidentally had a glass of really dry red wine with a pipe full of SG Commonwealth Mix, and the result was good for both the wine and the tobacco. I suppose the acidity of the wine helps in some way or another...

Actually S/Man, your post raises an interesting point - what do you like to drink while smoking a pipe, and which tobacco with which drinks?

I'm a coffee addict. A briar (or Meer) with an English blend and a cup of Peet's French Roast along with a good book, and I'm set. In the summer evenings, Camille and I will sit out on the back deck after work with our "****tails" - Arnold Palmers and a pipe for me, she'll puff on an American Spirit.

What about youse guys (as Johnny might say emoticon )?

Good coffee is always good, and better for having a smoke with it. My wife lives for her Latte and a Romeo y Julieta cigarette in the morning.

Dixon, I think the editing on these boards is automatic. I have had much difficulty in explaining that a single-cut file is known as a b@stard on other forums.

Yep...that was automatic...... emoticon
On one CAD forum I haunt the word "Indian" is edited to "native American"....go figure. Sometimes I think we're getting just TOO P.C. emoticon

I start the day with a LARGE cup of hot herbal tea every morning...summer or winter. Usually with S/L or a similar "wake-up" baccy. In the evening it's any bodys guess what'll trip my trigger.... emoticon

I've never been much into wine other than my younger days with Boone's Farm. emoticon

I do very much enjoy coffee and brandy with a pipe.

Well, accidents happen, Johnny. Especially around the home.

One can never be too careful. emoticon

Occassionally, I will get a specific Scotch, coffee, tea, juice or whatever with a specific tobacco. Tea is always nice with a smoke. I think I just like saying "Tea, Earl Grey, Hot." like Captain Picard.

Thus, when I find myself smoking a pipe and drinking whatever was in hand, it's "accidental" as opposed to intentional. That's my story and I'm stickin to it. emoticon

Good story there S-man. LOL I prefer a nice Chai tea or one of Celestial Seasons herbals in the morning..........after that it's usually Dr. Pepper. Not a big coffee drinker, although I drank it by the gallon some years back. Somehow I just drifted away from it. Bout the only time I'll have a cup is when dining out.
Sooooo.....what's your go-to baccy with rum & coke?........... emoticon emoticon
