Guinness

I'm pretty sure that this is the best beer on the planet for my taste. Smooth, not at all bitter, and always tastes good, whether it's hot or cold outside.

We had a little get-together Friday night for St. Patrick's Day...corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips, and Guinness and Harp. Then for dessert Irish Car Bombs.

3/4 pint of Guinness in a glass, 1/2 shot of Bailey's Irish Cream and 1/2 shot of Irish Whisky in a shot glass, then drop the glass into the Guinness. Delicious.

My sentiments exactly but I must admit I have never tried Harp.

Sounds like your get together was a success.

Jim, I don't care for Harp by itself, but mixed 50/50 with Guinness it's really good. It's a lager, which I'm not a big fan of. I prefer ale's.

Re: Guinness

I'm also a Guinness fan.
Have to be in the mood for it though.

Brandon,
Have you tried Murphy's Stout?
It's also a good one.

Re: Guinness

Rob, Murphy's is good but I give Guinness the nod. Although it might have an edge just because I can get it at the local grocery store, rather than Murphy's where I have to go to a specialty store.

For a real treat, try Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout.

Re: Guinness

Guinness has been a fav of mine for many years; however, of late, I have been leaning towards Youngs Double Chocolate Stout and Samuel Smiths Imperial Stout.

When I was in Scotland in 1965 my MIL had a stroke. Every afternoon about 4 they would come by with a big cart and give every patient a bottle of Guinness Stout. She never drank so she gave it to me. Hard to think that was 43 years ago with my first wife LOL emoticon emoticon emoticon
