Absinth

Well lets see what we can get going here. emoticon

About 6 months ago me and my roomate went in on a rather sizable order of a liquer called absinth. We read about how great it was out of maxim magazine. You cannot purchase this is the US, so with the use of the internet we came up with with a company out of the Chezch republic that made it. We actually ordered two different brands with about the same result. Its horrable. It tastes like they mixed nyquill, jager mister, and some everclear up and then bottled it up and sold it. Its bitter, and hard, and just terrible in general.

I'm a white russian guy myself. A little kalua, vodka, and milk holds me pretty good.

Re: Absinth

I have never drank any and from the way you describe it, I don't want to. When crusing some liquor review areas recently I saw the name quite often but didn't read about it although I've heard of it throughout the years. If I have drank any I wasn't aware of it. emoticon

Be nice to have that money back to spend on some good baccy you could enjoy, huh?

I should add that I drank many folks share of White Russians when I got on a run of it one time. One time at Christmas I mixed up a quart jar extra strong and took it to the wife I had at that time parent's house for Christmas Eve so I could tolerate being around them. It made the evening more pleasant for me anyway.
emoticon I do not drink milk at all and haven't since I was a kid but for some reason it didn't bother me in a White Russian the first time I tried one. Of course it could be that I used so little milk making them.

Re: Absinth

Never been a lover of the stuff. It reminds me too much of a very Old Aunt from way up in the North of Scotland. I'm not sure, but whatever she used to put behind her ears sure smelt like Absinth. I'm a lover of Bundaberg Rum. For those who don't know of Bundy; It's a beautifully smooth, Full bodied, smokey Drink from North Queensland Australia's Sugar Growing Area........MMMmmm.

Re: Absinth

I like sweet stuff myself. I'm a big fan of Bacardi Gold, and Vanilla coke. Its better if you cut it down with a little club soda. I'll have to check the local liqure store to see if I cant come up with soem of the stuff your talking about soldier.

I've been considering buying a decent port. I remember drinking some of this a couple of years ago at my parents house, and I really like it.

I've wanted to try absinthe, but, from what I've heard, it will almost work as a paint remover.

I had never heard that before. That thought brings back the late 60's and early 70's with the Orange/Yellow Sunshine, Microdot and well... you may know. emoticon emoticon emoticon
