Re: Smokers Forum.....

I have been in touch with Ted as I now have

a site for the Peterson's Group.

Many thanks for your consideration.

However there will still be many members of SF looking for a home.

Peter...
Please don't think that you and the Pete gang were unwelcome here...far from it! We all like and respect you here, and I have the utmost respect for the other members of your group...good people all!

My concern is as I said, the ability of this no-frills setup to protect the membership once we start showing up "on the radar". So far, we're small enough to be ignored by the trouble-makers "out there". My *ONLY* concern!

Hope you're not angry or disappointed in our initial reaction?

I sure hope the great people from across the pond stay with us. They are some of the nicest people with great hearts and a great outlook on pipe smoking and their taste in tobaccos. They sure have change a bit of what I smoke LOL. The ropes have become almost a regular thing for me thanks to Peterwd. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Ted,

not at all.

I actually felt rather guilty asking in a way.
I do now have my own forum, but I will wait for the dust to settle at SF.

And Yes I agree with Jim McC 2015 is all your fault.

Ted, you made me a co-admin quite a while back and other than adding a few smilies, and deleting the not too often double post, I've not had to do much.

That is because the small group here is great and I've never seen anyone get out of line in any way, much like said, we are a family!

I don't have a problem with others joining at all as this is a nice forum and new members are always a plus.

So I say make some invitations perhaps, just not an open invite. In other words, if you know someone to invite, by all means, but don't just post saying come on over!

As for security, I've not seen a problem here ever, but we'll have to keep an eye on it. Also, don't need to add a bunch of mods, unless things get crazy, I'd hate to see the soft touch moderation changed. emoticon

Couldn't agree with you more Steve. I have invited about half a dozen friends during the furore on SF but it's all been by PM or e-mail rather than posting (as you know as I copied it to Ted and yourself).

Thanks all. I really have no problem with *growing* the forum. In fact, I look forward to it.

I think we all gain with new blood (not "blood" literally....except for the initiation rites of course...) emoticon emoticon

There are some great folks "over there" and a couple have already made their presence known here. If you have a good friend or two...or three....by all means, invite them to drop by.

Yep, we got a good bunch here! emoticon emoticon emoticon
