Edgeworth Ready Rubbed
Bob Runowski (our own Morleysson) told me about this tobacco in a chatroom on another pipe forum a while back and, on his advice, I sent off an order for a can just before Christmas. It arrived a couple of days ago and I've been smoking it non-stop ever since. I think I have a handle on this tobacco now, thus this review.
ERRed comes in a rubbed out form that packs easily. I usually just scoop my pipe full out of the can, sprinkle a little extra on top, and pack it down. It lights readily and has a very nice burn rate. Tamping is kept to a minimum, once or twice should do it.
The flavor is a wonderful toasted nuttiness that reminds me of the old time burley blends, except this one is better. There are times when I want a tobacco with a simple honest taste, not a fancy blend with the layers of flavor often written about in other reviews. It seems to work best for me in larger pipes.
Pricing is not bad if you shop around. I found it at JR's for $19.95/can.
Overall ERRed gets a big from me.

Re: Edgeworth Ready Rubbed
I agree it is great stuff. I get a freshly baked bread like flavor from ERR. It claims to have light Virginia in it as well but I only taste Burley.
Thanks for the review!

Re: Edgeworth Ready Rubbed
Good review and I agree, good tobacco. I also get the best results from this in a larger pipe, ERR in an old beater Custombilt is fantastic. I generally trickle it in a pinch at a time and leave a little room at the top. Then, further rub out enough to over fill overfill the pipe just a little. Finish filling and tap the sides of the bowl to settle the smaller pieces in and go.
Thanks Smokey!
