the garage....

Check this out! What we came home to after our shopping trip Saturday.
Image Image

My little Dodge Ram 50 is in there...smashed...and the 18 foot cedar strip canoe. Pretty sure the canoe is OK. Can't get it out until the ice melts off enough to start pulling things apart. It's pinned under two of the trusses. Quite the mess, huh?

No insurance on the out-buildings or the truck, as I was working on it. Today, the bear eats "The Bear"....<sigh>

I'll just have to clean it up and put a new roof on the thing. The truck will go to the scrap yard. Hopefully I'll be able to salvage some of the tin....

Just seen the dog in the second pic'; we need one of those competitions to fill in a balloon for what she's saying! (Proceeds to new garage fund).

Hi Jim...that's Poleigh (pronounced Polly), our eldest Boston Terrier. Sounds like a fun idea! How about

Ted,

my wife saw the picture with Polly in it.

She now wants a Boston Terrier to go with our Black Pugs.

Re: the garage....

They are great dogs Peter. We've had six altogether and still have four. We don't see our home without one. Our girls are sweet-tempered, loving and playful. All but one is a rescue.

Bull was our first...a kennel dog that ruined us. He was a real charmer. After fifteen loving years he died, four years ago.

Then there was Trixie Marie...Pat gave her to me for Christmas. She passed away last year after seventeen years. Trix went everywhere with us...conferences and meetings, everywhere. I still miss her so much....

Poleigh Esther was going to be put down because she couldn't bear pups. She's been "Aunt Polly" to all the girls...would have been a wonderful mom. She's fifteen.

Isabella Donna we "inherited" when Pat's good friend Charlotte passed away. She's wall-eyed and half deaf...birth defects that made her "unwanted". She adopted me and follows me everywhere. She'll be eight this summer.

Meaghan Louise was 6 months old when we got her...she had bruises and scars and a broken leg from being kicked and beaten...now at five years of age, she "dances" with me for her breakfast.

Rusty Rae was a kennel dog too, and got too old to breed...she's our "red" Boston. It took a while, but she's finally learned to romp and play with the other girls. She was afraid of the grass when we brought her home.

Like I said, We'll never be without our "girls".
