The Denver Trip.

Pat's good friend Rose, lost her husband a couple of years back...Rosie wanted out of the rat-race that is Denver, and asked us to find a place here for her to rent. This weekend Tommyboy and I went to move her "home".

We left about 12:30 Friday AM..driving my Father-in-law's Chevy truck...club cab and the 6' bed. We went to Springfield, picked up I-44 to Joplin, swung off on I-400 to Wichita and up to Selina, where we caught I-70 into Denver. It took us about 16 hours to get there.

After checking in with Rose and seeing what was left to do, Tom & I drove across town to see Scott and Camille. We visited a while, then Scott tossed steaks on the grill and Camille cooked up some potatoes with fresh asparagus and hot dinner rolls...delicious!

After dinner we moved to the living room to do a bit of talking and the guys lit our pipes...

We reluctantly ended the evening around ten, drove back to Rose's and crashed.

Next day we were up early, finished building sideboards for the truck and packing it....FULL!

We covered the whole thing with tarps and after a couple of false starts, headed out of town around four. The wind crossing eastern Colorado and western Kansas was fierce, but died around sunset making the rest of the trip a relative pleasure.

We got home about mid-day and sat and chilled while Bobby, Pat, Tona, Mina and Mary fixed a big BBQ. Ken, Kenny and Marlinda showed for dinner then we started unloading the truck and trailer. I was home atound seven, in bed by nine!

I'm sorry there are no pics of the home-coming. At that point, I had forgotten I even owned a camera!

Thanks for that Ted. Sounds fun especially being able to meet Scott and Camille.

Ted, these are great! Be sure to tell Tommy I say hello. It's been a long time since I've talked to him.

Scott, by the way - just so you are ready: I like my steak "Pittsburg rare" - slap it on the ass and send it through the kitchen!. emoticon

Uh oh, Johnny, I'd better take yours off the fire. I've had it on the grill since Ted and Tom left. Ah, we'll give that one to Mallory! LOL
