RYO... who smokes what??

Recently the wonderful state of California added another crazy tax on cigs and drove the prices through the roof. Mina and I both smoke cigs, so we (actually I) started rolling our own.
I have a two cig roller (Premier) and use the same brand of tubes (with the filter already in them). We have tried quite a few different baccy's but have pretty much stuck with "Singlestick" menthol.
I sit for about 20 minutes a night and roll enough smokes for the next day.

Now for the good part... the same shop that we get our supplies from charges over 40 bucks for a carton of marlboro, but we're rolling ours for 11 dollars a carton!!

Yep...they went up here a while back too. I bought Pat a two barrel roller too, and she gets Stokers #2 ultra lite baccy from the local discount smoke shop. Costs under $15.00 a pound.....and she smokes less now too. A pound lasts her around 3 weeks.
Now, with the cleanup looming, she hasn't had the time to roll....found a new brand of tailor-mades...Axis (sounds kinda German/Italian but from Brazil) $11.00 a carton.....but she's smoking more again! Can't wait to get this over with for another year!

I'm looking for a crank-type roller now....any suggestions? They better than the push-type?

Isnt cigarette tobacco burleys? I know Camels has a Turkish blend but others dont say much about the blend.
I smoked cigs. for 50 years, 25 of it menthol ultra-lights and I have a lb. of "Gambler" RYO menthol, but it gags me just to smell it now.

I've been googling but had no luck on finding the G&H blends made for rolling cigs.

I did find this reference site for cheap RYO blends:

What's the closest thing to a Camel?

Jack,

A few of the Turkish blends are comparable to Camel.
www.pipesandcigars.com has several different type of RYO baccy from VA to Turkish and burley's. Most of them are reasonably priced until you start getting into the "name brnds" such as Stokkebye.

have been smoking the Stokkebye tobaccos for about 5 years or more and while it sure is a bit more in price it sure is a good smoke IMHO. I use the tube injector and it does save alot of money LOL. I do think that I will have to change to another at some point but not this month
