Re: RYO... who smokes what??
When Pat first started rolling, we ordered small samples from www.pipesandcigars.com ///
They were very good blends. Then she found the local shop and has been buying there. I'd recommend P&C baccys.......good baccy at an excellent price.

Re: RYO... who smokes what??
I've been wanting to try the Camel Turkish blend cigs and bought a pkg. of Camel "Turkish Silver" and one of their new "Signature" series called "Robust".(there are four Signature labels..one is mint)). I wanted to know if these were comparable to the orientals in good pipe tobacco.
I will give this more than one chance, as I have learned with pipe baccys; but I have to say, I just dont taste the sweet/spicy taste of orientals that is in a good VA-O-Per, etc. Actually, they just taste like cigarettes to me. Now I want to try the American Spirit cigs with VA and St. James Perique.

Haven't smoked ciggy's for years (in days when you could smoke on a plane - and then I had to break the filter off) but I thought most cigarettes (at least in UK) were made from Va; the leaves that were not the same quality as pipe tobacco. See RCH books.
G&H do several RYO baccys but I've never seen them in internet stores.

Re: RYO... who smokes what??
Most of it does seem to be burley. I smoke the Peter Stokkebye thats all imported, Called Amsterdam Shag which is dark fired Kentucky and Virginia that gives it a "Dutch Taste". It surre taste better than any store bought cigs that I've had. I am in the process of cutting back so I can eventually stop cigs completely at some point. If you do smoke cigs give the Stokkebye tobacco a try.

Re: RYO... who smokes what??
I quit smoking (cig's) in '99, but when I smoked, it was usually Marlboro. I tried the tube machines and they worked good, but they had a tendency to pack too loose and lose all the baccy out of the end of the tube. So, if I wanted ryo I went straight for the zigzag or topps papers and started rolling "camels" yep, they even hnad the hump in the back. LOL
