Peterson's Meer that is a Briar.

Won this on E Bay last week beating nine other bidders, it is the same

shape and facet cut as the Meerschaum pipes.

I knew they made briar's in this style back in the late 60's early 70's, but have never

seen an All Black version. On the shank where you would expect a nickle/silver band

the mortice is vulcanite.

It cleaned up easily, and I retouched the "P" with Tippex Correcting Fluid.

The stem is marked London Made, must have been some "Old Stock" stems.

A very tactile feel to it, I have chistened it a "Blackthorn" after the Irish Walking

Stick.

Size is similar to a 120, but with a bigger bowl 1 5/8" by 3/4" making it a group five.

First smoke University Flake.
