It's been snowing since last night here in Denver, Colorado; with no signs of letting up. It'll be a fun drive tomorrow. We usually get the kind of snow Regor mentioned...maybe 2 - 3 inches and gone in a couple of days. But it's been cold here the past week and this stuff is sticking around. Glad I don't have to be out in it. The skiers will rejoice though; as will the water providers as we've been in a major drought the past couple of years.

Larry, what part of Georgia are you at?

I'm in Columbus which is 100 miles south of Atlanta. Ft. Benning is here and many folks have heard of here bacause of Benning. Macon is about 100 miles east of here. We are right on the Chattahoochee which seperates Ga from Alabama. In Alabama, Auburn University is about 30 miles from here, Montgomery a little over 100 miles and Birmingham about 180 or thereabouts.

Until I moved back to town to take care of my mother, I had a very nice home on the Alabama side of the river with a wrap around deck, two docks, etc. It was 35 miles from where I live now (about 10 houses from my mother) by highway but by boat I could be to one of the large landings in Georgia in about five minutes. If not for inclimate weather and worrying about folks stealing either my boat or van, I would have just traveled back and forth to my house by boat and got around Columbus by van.

I'm watching the Denver and Oakland game at the minute and without doubt the snow is continuing in Denver at a pretty relentless pace. Looks as though they will have fun tonight. emoticon

This year we did most of our shopping on the net and the delivery people were busy coming our way LOL. Alot of the deliveries during other times are tobacco when I can orderit. One place only uses USPS. The delivery guy sure gets a kick out of coming here and is very friendlt with all the animals including a very big chow that we have. Its funny when they show up and see how excited I get because I know what in there. You are sure right about some of the little things that are naturally funny, I get a big kick out of them!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

We did quite a bit of online shopping and the rest locally. Actually I haven't done any of it but at least that's the way I've been told we shopped. emoticon

My mailman and UPS delivery folks just leave packages at our side door under the carport and they know my burglar alarm lets me know it's here. My burglar alarm is a half Chow half Rotty. She's about 100 pounds and if something moves she barks. My entire rear yard is fenced with a double gate at each driveway so she can see what goes on. Since I stay in the back of the house I can tell by her bark if it's something I should see what's going on or if it's just a routine bark. I had a half Rott half hound dog but he died a couple of years ago at the age of 15. When I bought this house about 9 years ago, my insurance agent came over because I wanted to be sure I had everything covered yet didn't want to pay for what I didn't need. We was standing in the side yard talking and he asked me if I had a burglar alarm and I asked him if he heard them when he drove up. He asked did I mean the dogs and I said yes. He laughed and said they was better than a regular alarm and gave me the alarm discount which I still have today. emoticon
