Hello Everyone,
I got this from the RTDA. I suggest that you guys take a look. At least you will know where the pain will be comming from.

SCHIP Legislation Details:

The new tax rates are effective April 1, 2009;
The cigarette tax rate goes from $.39 per pack to $1.00 per pack;

The tax on snuff goes from $.585 per pound to $1.50 per pound;

The tax on pipe tobacco goes from $1.0969 per pound to $2.8126 per pound;

The tax on RYO (roll your own) goes from $1.0969 per pound to $24.62 per pound (not a typo).

For those of you who still don't have a tobacco tax it won't be as painful. But for those of us in a state that does, like Florida, all I can say is HUMBUG!

Jim

Thanks for the heads up Ted.

Looks like it's time to place a big order.

Hope Mike at Mars is ready.

Well I am for sure going to stock up on Bob's Chocolate Flake and PS Navy Flake. Possibly a few others too. Thanks for the heads-up Ted.

I have been expecting something like this for some time now. This is why the majority of my "pipe and tobacco" dollars have been directed at tobacco.
