Broken Down In WI

On Wednesday I put my truck into the shop for what I thought were some minor problems to be repaired.

As luck would have it they turned out to be major engine troubles and the truck was sent down to the engine shop in Milwaukee.

I've been stuck in a hotel ever since. Luckily I did have the presence of mind to grab my pipe bag before coming to the hotel, so at least I have my pipes. I did stupidly forget my knitting bag, which irritates me a bit, but oh well.

According to the shop, my truck "should" be ready "some time" during the day on Friday. That happens to also be my birthday.

I had planned on making an early day of things on Friday to mark the date with a few glasses of Scotch and a few bowls of fine tobacco, but after the down time I may have to skip all of that to try and make up for the lost income.

Ah well, such is life on the road. Nothing new.
