Greetings from California!

Hi, my name is Bob Ridout. I am 50 yrs old, and have just re-started pipe smoking again after a 10 years.

I went back to cigarettes about 10 years ago. I love pipe smoking, it is very rewarding. Never intend to go back to cigarettes again, I was a slave to them.

I love to look at pipes, learn about different makes, history of various makes, and learn about and try different tobaccos.

I like photography, camping, hiking and relaxing with my pipes!

Best..

Bob

Welcome aboard Bob! Good to see you here. There are a couple others from the "Left Coast" here. Pull up an easy chair, fill a bowl from the jar over there, and make yourself to home.

Thank You Gentlemen...

Nice to belong to this community. Believe it or not, I do not know anyone who smokes a pipe!

There used to be a few tobacco stores/pipe stores in my area, ( within 6 miles or so). Closet one now is 30 miles! Thank goodness for the net!

California ( esp. San Francisco area ) is very anti tobacco. Very sad!

Nice to meet all of you... Would love to smoke a bowl with you someday!

Best..

Bob

Sorry to hear that you have no pipe-smoking pals in the area..... Cali leads the nation in anti-everything! What a place.....
My nearest B&M (brick & mortar, or "real" store) is in Springfield, about 100 miles from me. Needless to say, the net is my salvation! emoticon
You're always more than welcome to sit and smoke a pipe with us here... For quite a few, this is our "pipe-club"...meetings are hap-hazard, but the atmosphere is the best!

Bob, sounds like your enjoying life...... and that is what counts.

Welcome to this little niche in the hobby of pipe smoking. I hope that you enjoy yourself here as much as I do. Lot of fine people here that will help you learn even more. (or is that confuse you even more?) emoticon
