Manx Meerschaum Refurb.

Arrived today, externally fine no damage or tooth marks.

However the bowl was less than half size due to carbon and the smoke hole would not pass a cleaner.

Used a blunt ended knife on the bowl then reamed it back to meerschaum.

The smoke hole I started with a 2mm drill bit by hand, then progressed up to 4mm.

The colour is described as bronze but it is quite red, with a cl;ean and wax it was fine, luckily it had been kept in it's box and the stem was not oxidised.

I thought the shape was 302/303, I even photograhed it next to a 303.

It is actually a larger 999 Army Mount with a saddle stem.

Brilliant smoker and a good looking pipe.

With a Peterson's 303.

A 999 Peterson's for comparison.

Lovely pipe Peter, and a stellar refurb. Yuo're right...definitely red...but I like it. Glad it smokes well. Congrats on another fine score. emoticon emoticon

This pipe now resides in the Missouri Ozarks...at the Bear's Den. A lovely pipe that smokes well...it will be a reminder of a friend lost.
