Just received a package of 22 pipes from an Ebay auction

 There are some great pipes in it.I need advice on the cleaning and renovation of pipes.Many have a thick coating in(and overthe rim)of the bowl,which reveals a square,sharp edge when I chipped a bit off.
 ANY advice would be most welcome! I just went from smoking one pipe(a novice) to owning 23! what a leap! Now I gotta learn how to smoke them!
