I'm back
If I may introduce myself, my name is Danny. I am 53 years old, live in Colorado and recently picked up the pipe again. I started collecting and smoking pipes when I was 18. Back then, you could get a Savinelli Autograph for 65 or 70 bucks. I collected a few decent briars over a period of five or six years then gave it up and stayed with cigarettes. Then almost nine years ago, I gave up all tobacco. In May of this year, I was going through some old stuff and found one of my old meers. Whatever the pull was, I went to a tobacconist and bought a mild blend. That's all it took. I'm back.
What I have realized is that I never really learned much about the hobby. There is so much to know. I've read some on this forum and it seems like you fellers are knowlegeable and friendly. I instantly fell in love with Steve and Ted's work. I have a few tools and might even take a poke at carving one out with a little advise...Anyway as I sit here smoking my first 1/4 bowl out of a new Stanwell I got yesterday from Smokingpipe.com,(good start, I think its going to be a good smoker) I am enjoying a beautiful evening and a wee dram of my favorite single malt. Cheers to you pipe fellers from Colorado!

Welcome aboard Danny!
Friendly, yes...knowledgeable, that's debatable! However, any questions you might have, we'll put our heads together and see if we can come up with an answer for you.
Stanwell, huh? Sounds like a great way to rekindle the spark...pun intended. There are a couple of good tobacconists in the Denver area...Edwards is one that I would recommend highly. Never been there in person, but have talked with Bruce, and order from them.
Looking forward to lots of posts from you...jump in!

That's right. If you have questions ask them. Just dont ask me, I make a habit of not knowing anything at all. Ignorance is bliss and I like to grin. LOL
