emoticon Responding to Myth or Truth #4, yes,Ira is the one who could walk on his hands and he did break both of his wrists several times when he was a young man. As for Myth or Truth #1 The Lost Lonely Boys did have a band with their dad, but there were three brothers in the band and they were called the Falcones, so they had that e in their name, instead of being spelled Falcons. While I'm boring you, I also learned that the drummer is named Ringo, for real. It seems their dad was a big Beatles fan and he told his sons they would be the Tex-Mex Beatles. I saw all this in the USA Weekend that comes with the Sunday Bismarck Tribune.
I'm still breathing. weren't any of you worried I would hold my breath? I'm running out of ideas for GypsyFoot urban myths or truths, but I'm sure I'll come up with something. Till then Keep on Rock'n to the tunes of GYPSYFOOT. emoticon Geno emoticon

True or false: David Martel actually grew up near Mars, and is now a stranger in a strange land.

(snippet from "stranger" link: "Stranger in a Strange Land tells the story of Valentine Michael Smith, orphaned progeny of the first manned expedition to Mars, who has been raised by Martians and brought back to Earth by a second human expedition. " ... classic book, and where we get the word "grok".

emoticon Gypsyfoot played up at Belcourt at the Turtle Mountain Community College yesterday 2-16-05. Of course they gained many new fans, both youg and old. On the way in the Groovemobile, they drove by the farm where Dave grew up in the Rolette area. Just 1/2 mile from the farm there used to be a trading post, called MARS. So we used to say we where from MARS. So yes it is true, sorta, that Dave was from MARS. The Post closed about in the 1910's. So if you can find an early 1900's or late 1800's ND map you can find it located in the low to midcenter of Rolette County on some maps. You can find them on the internet with some time and effort. emoticon Good Luck and I hope to see some of you at Fox's in Moorhead on 2-18-05. More GypsyFoot urban myths or truth later. emoticon Rock-on emoticon Geno

TRUE! Er...FALSE!! What was the middle one again? emoticon

I broke my wrist once....had a foot race with a buddy in the service...and two many JDs... I fell, I didn't do that anymore. Trying to play the Guitar and getting the left wrist back into shape was long and painful. Once is enough for anyone who needs those digits. If you did it more then once, you needed to have a looong talkin' too.. emoticon

Here's one about that cute bass player. Dillon James Marchus was named after his mom's third cousin on his mother's mom's side, Matt Dillon. Truth or GypsyFoot urban legend?? emoticon

 emoticon Mother Mary
Was that the Matt Dillon from the old west?
The Sheriff of Dodge City Kansas, I think, or was that Matt Dillon the guy from Beverly Hills 90210? Tell us the truth Mary, he was really named after that space alien that landed up at Leeds, ND, wasn't he? You know the skinny guy with the long fingers that could play bass quitar while dialing the phone for home. emoticon Geno emoticon

Well, Duh, Gene. I meant the Matt Dillon the actor from 90210. The sheriff Matt Dillon was a ficticious name of a character. If Dillon was the sheriff's distant relative wouldn't that make Dillon a ficticious character also? Dillon is a character, no doubt, but believe me he is real. I guess then that Dillon is real character. Huh? So back to the truth or GypsyFoot legend - Was Dillon James Marchus named after Matt Dillon (the actor) who is his mom's third cousin on his mother's mom's side? P.S. Know one was suppose to know about my very close encounter with ET back in the early 80's. Now EVERYONE knows about my little indiscretion. Thanks, Gene! emoticon

Is it Truth or Myth that GypsyFoots Happy Magical Minstrel Bus has been 'twanging' as of late? Like it needs a twangerectomy?
