Ideas
Alright, since I know Christmas break i comin up people are wanting me to do a campign, number one continuing demon web pits. I dont really know if I wanna continue demon web pits cause I have other plans for it, but I had a few suggestions. One being a semi futuristic space cowboy kinda setting (cowboy beebop, outlaw star, serenity, firefly, gundam?, etc.) Theres a lot we could do with somethihng like that and it sounded fun.
Number 2 is a Dark Matter campaign. For those of you who don't know what dark matter is. Heres the description of the campaign setting. What is all those stories of unexplainable events, laughed off by all of us as nightmare or fairy tales, weren't so imaginary after all? Waht if the crackpot clains about alien visitors and men in black turned out to be genuine? What if the strangeness was out there and it was only getting worse. Welcome to a world that is just slightly different fromour own, where what can't possibally be true is possible. A world where shadowy players spin a web of lies and half truths to keep the public blisfully ignorant of the horrible thruths that lurk in dark places. A world where knowledge is simultaniously the ultimate weapon and the ultimate curse, and where the comfortable hues of black and white blend in a decidedly uncomfortable manner. A world where the dark tide is rising, and you're one of the chose ew who can hold it back, if even only for a little while. I really like the tone and idea of this campaign setting, I think its a really good idea, and I'd love to do it since I love this conspiracy-esque stuff.
I'm posting this for all of your feedback, and because if we are going to be doing either of these we need one very important thing, my ******* modern book, so everyone double check your **** and look for it. Also if we wanna do Dark Matter, than I need the recent book (not the polyhedron magazine one), so if anyone can find a torrent that'd make me happy. Also I did start work on Leylines again, so well see what happens with that. Lastly, at the moment I dont know it I really care about who plays or not, my only note is that this will be role playling intensive, so if you can't roleplay don't even ask to play.
P.S. Find my modern book reguardless.

I, of course, favor the first. I think an outlaw starish/gundam kinda setting would be cool. D20 Future has the perfect rules for pulling off this kinda thing and imo (and I think of several other players) is more interesting than the more mundane modern setting. We haven't had much of a chance to use the future spaceships and mecha so that definitely gets my vote.
Nothing against Dark Matter but the whole "Aliens and Sasquatch are real!" thing seems kinda....lame. All for role playing and suspense and the like but something more futuristic appeals more to me more. While you would have to be either a member of a ship or a mecha pilot, I think everyone could find something they like (from Star Wars to gundam/outlaw star).
As for Leylines...well unless you pull several all-nighters in the next few days, I don't really see that happening.

Leylines isn't an option. And there wont be lasers or **** like that if thats what people are thinking. Oh and Dark Matter isn't just aliens and sasquatch, things like that, its every consiracy theory, magic included.

Future IS modern...and so is Darkmater.
So it's really a question of do we wanna do a furistic setting or another present day setting with sci-fi elements (what we've done before).
