Writeup Hijack Thread

It was suggested we steal a spot on this forum for a writeup on Arisa's game, so here is the spot. I will have to beg Arisa forgiveness for spelling errors, as I've never seen the names in writing and am not sure if how I heard them was right.

What's in the Box?

This side up; don't shake.

We've been looking for this box, the gargoyle, the gnome, and I; and apparently neither of the two others were told what was inside the box. They were, in fact, told, "don't open the box."

------

I met up with Elly and Dominick when they were having a staredown contest out on the path; Dominick's the large stony guy with the broken wing, and Elly's the gnome singer. The gargoyle was clearly winning, since, as he said, 'gargoyles don't blink.' And those were the other two 'mercenaries' hired to do this job.

Dominick strikes me as one of those incredibly loyal guard dogs that looks big and mean but doesn't mean any harm. Unlike other gargoyles, he has made it pretty clear that he 'doesn't eat gnomes.' Since Paul DOES eat gnomes, we'll hope Paul isn't some other personality in his head.

Elly's a fairly sharp gnome, as far as gnomes go, but at the same time, I just can't get myself to trust her as much as it's easy to trust Dominick. She's not stupid enough to take the fact that they wanted a 'box' at face value. Either she knows more then she's letting on, or she figures she'd get the box and then figure out what to do with it, or something else entirely, but I'm sure she has a plan.

The three of us set off with our two maps, and managed to find a cave, supposedly the "Cave of Wonders", which was very helpfully marked "Cave" by a signpost near the entrance. This cave turned out to be a relatively small cave, with a trouble of gambling monsters to the right and a giant pit to the left. The monsters didn't want anything to do with us, and snatched weapons for the ground and charged poor Dominick, who started giving them hugs and chewing their brains out in response.

That's right. He doesn't eat people. He just chews on peoples' heads until they cave in. I'm a little lost on where that thin line between eating and chewing is.

They focused most of their attention on the large scary gargoyle, which gave Elly and I a chance to stab at them a few times. Other then a couple equipment malfunctions, the fight went pretty quickly and simply.

Unfortunately we'd just finished with stabbing the last gambler through when a man showed up claiming he was going to gamble with them, and taking the gold coin off their cooling corpses. He also threatened to turn Dominick into fine power if we fought him. He was nice enough to introduce himself as Bill.

Well I didn't care a whit about the money; gold's easy enough to come by in these modern times. However, a search of the room revealed no box, and it was a box we needed. We chased after Bill, who had already disappeared into the forest and had somehow given us the slip in the hallway when we were looking for him earlier.

We chased after Bill all the way to a town, where we promptly entered the tavern and asked about Bill; and the innkeeper was quick to inform us of where to find Bill, except it turned out to be the wrong location when we got to that town. A paladin gave us directions too, but by the time we got there it was too late. Thankfully the paladin was also nice enough to help out by letting me know she thought he worked for the Hitigashi House, which was at least a step into learning what the hell was going on.

We returned to the cave to search the deep pit after having gone in a few loops chasing after Bill, and found it had been re-occupied. We don't know by whom yet. Also, a search of the pit revealed, after a broken ankle or two- damn ropes- an entrance to what's supposedly the Underdark.

I'm torn. I want make sure this box doesn't fall into the hands of the wrong people, and I most certainly want to know what happens to it- but if its current keeper works for the Hitigashi House, they'll take care of the little issue I'm concerned about. If it's in the Underdark the one in the box is dead, and who cares what happens to the box once it's useless? Then again, if the folk down in the Underdark have her and know what she is, we could all be in trouble....
