Peace, Love, and Hidden Agendas
Gnolls by the Litre
Baron of Avartise: Baron willing to give absurd amounts of money for forest ventures for capturing monsters like gnolls. Has friend Ian McKellan. Meet with Ian in Town.
Met with Ian along with the Lady and her Knight. Ian seemed nervous and worried, and it was hard to say over what, just what he wanted to leave soon. He claimed he'd been here for a week but his room was just too clean! He offered us five hundred gold if we'd leave the next day. He said he'd pay us by the 'litre.' Something was shifty about him, something making him nervous, so I suggested a nice date and he was willing.
The Lady is talking to me while I'm looking over a nice silken blue number, and she asks if we're willing to take a job in Eyres for Kela's lackey. Seems all right, as long as we can take the job for Ian. We agreed to take the job in Eyres, killing “rats”.
The others had some business deals to take care of at 3AM, but what can I say! I'd been doing work that evening, so I got some beauty rest.
We left in the morning after they'd dealt with some threat against the clergy. Ian had some pretty horses just for us.
After a bit of travel, we came across some crazy druid with her dead tree, and decided to avoid it. I was sort of disappointed because it was boring traveling on those horses and I wanted to see them tear her apart. She might have had nice trinkets for us.
...spoke with the Baron himself. He was a fat, ugly, balding man with wrinkles of fat over his wrinkles of fat- did I mention fat? He was drinking some sort of nasty pink goo, too. And he proposed we collect gnolls for him. Dead or alive, none dead longer then a day. He'd take other creatures too. The prices were:
200 – Goblin
50 – Orc
1000 – Gnoll
He didn't want to answer our questions much more then that. His house was so nice in comparison to his ugly form.
Talked to a sweetheart guard that talked about the last two that came through here. Said they bickered a lot and killed half a tribe. He was real nice about answering my questions! Stupid Hillary wanted to cut me so I'd make bait. I thought we were better friends then that.
