Okay, this may be a month behind BUT
Heroes is kinda like the X-Men, but without the whole "hey let's get dressed up" bit, which has been parodied and whatnot in modern comics, some heroes wearing only "civvies."
Also, the ending of Season 1 parallels the end of Watchmen, DOESN'T IT CODY!?
