Sakura-Con 2009 Mascot Contest
Full Rules
General Guidelines
The Mascot should reflect the spring theme of Sakura-Con. Submitted art must contain no background, be full body characters, and should be 8.5" X 11" size or larger and at least 300dpi. No animated formats or copyright protected characters may be submitted; all art and characters must be original compositions. Artists may not post their entries or links to their entries on Sakura-Con forums or other Sakura-Con space. If an artist is found linking their entries from the Sakura-Con forum, they will be removed from the contest. Likewise, any artists found publicly defaming other artists on Sakura-Con forums will have their entries removed from the contest. Any nudity (implied or actual) or drug paraphernalia or other non family friendly content in submissions will be grounds for removal of those images from the contest. Sakura-Con reserves the right to remove any submission it deems inappropriate.
The final winning mascot will be chosen by vote of registered Sakura Con Staff after an initial pre-screen by the executive board (names will be withheld for purposes of anonymity). The new mascot will be revealed at 2008 closing ceremonies.
Submissions:
If you submitted art last year and did not win nor were a runner up, you may re-submit your art to the 2009 contest provided it fits the above size and resolution requirements. Previous winners must submit new original entries to participate in the 2009 contest. Artists may send in more then one entry, but can only win once in the contest.
All submissions become property of Sakura-Con for use in promoting the convention, website, and related activities.
Digital submissions should be copied to disk or CD and sent to the same address as hand drawn submissions or sent via our FTP. All entries are required to include name, address and email address (this information is for our use only and will not be shared).
FTP Submissions:
ZIP files containing artwork and a brief text file of artist contact information (name, address, phone number, email, forum name if any, etc.) should be sent to the following server. To ease file transfer across different operating systems, please to not have spaces in the ZIP filename.

Hey everybody!  Just me, Jean checking in on the Sakura Con front! 53 days, 7 hours, 7 minutes, 6 seconds until the Con everybody! ^__^ If you see this memo and are interested I just had a few questions for everybody interested! <3 So, pretty much a month and three weeks and we're there!! I'm so excited, it's so close!
1.) Are you coming? lol ^_^
2.) If yes, where are you staying?
3.) How long are you staying
These questions are a lot to think about, I know! And everybody's way busyw ith school I bet >__< But just if you have a sec, it would be great to know as soon as humanly possible for four reasons
#1 sanity
#2 cheaper rates for passes
#3 ...LINES. XD!!! hehehehe ^^;;
#4 to know if you wanna cosplay ^__^
Also if you've never been...we'd LOVE to have you ^__^ The more the merrier-seriously! ^_^ This convention is crazy and big and fun and even if you don't even like anime, it's awesome ^__^ Also, if anybody here is a minor like me, my dad would be happy to "chaperone" you XD or more literally sign the paper ^^
