I don't think all spells will require reagents, but yes things will be a bit different without the use of just plain mana.

I just found the whole thing very intersting. Maybe something is going on there? And did you read the question "Have the admins tryed DF?" and the answer were "yes, some of us"
And its good to read up on all forgotten features.

Well, Aventurine did show up to E3 one time. I remember reading about it. They also had a few of the admins show up to the booth and platest and stuff. But I think that was in 03.
Since then I wouldn't be surprised if the admins were allowed a little playtime one the game.

Awww.. but if the beta is soon (and we can say for sure its closer than it ever was) then maybe theyd wanna refresh peoples minds of a dream game like DF.
