My memory sucks Guess what I just found today that I had forgotten that I had decided to buy. Solves my problems of been stuck for music for my site. I had forgotten all about it but I had got a "Les Mysteriuses Cites D'Or" album about 9 months ago. Put it away safely in my room and forgotten it. It is not an overly collectable version as it is Vol 11 of the "Musiques Originales TV" collection but it still has 16 CD quality Mysterious Cities of Gold tracks and two other random TV show themes. All French versions naturally. It has the following tracks, if anyone wants any let me know, not got enough room to host them all at good 320kbs quality though:
City of Gold (main theme in French) - [Cites D'Or]
Zia's Theme (with French singing) - [Theme De Zia]
Tao's Theme (with French singing) - [Theme De Tao]
Esteban's Theme - [Theme D'Esteban]
Tao's Adventure - [L'Aventure De Tao]
Happy Esteban - [Heureux Esteban]
Esteban's Adventure - [L'Aventure D'Esteban]
Sad City of Gold - [Tristes Cites D'Or]
Condor Flying - [Le Vol Du Condor]
Sailing Away - [En Naviguant]
The Incas - [Les Incas]
Esteban in the City - [Esteban Dans La Ville]
Tempest - [La Tempete]
Gods of the Incas - [Les Dieux Des Incas]
Electronic Adventures - [Les Aventures Electroniques]
City of Gold Instrumental (Main theme) - [Cites D'Or Instrumental]
Inspector Gadget - [Inspecteur Gadget]
Brain the Dog - The Song - [La Chanson De Fino]
See what I mean by two random themes. English titles are staight from case. Has the English and French titles. Decided to put up one sample:
Re: My memory sucks That sample you put up has always been among my most favourite MCoG music, second best being the music used for "To Follow".
Esteban's Adventure seems to encapsulate the whole feel of the show, and is grand and sweeping as well. It also appears to be the signature theme of the Golden Condor, as it plays most whenever the great bird takes off or flies - notice that?
Re: My memory sucks It is one of my favourites as well hence why I went for that piece. The other tune I like is the theme that plays when Esteban is running through barcalona (I think it is Estabans main theme). That may be because they both coincide with moments of the show that I really like. I also wish I could get copies of Tao's and Zia's themes at that sort of quality level without any French singing. How does it compare would you say with other samples that have been uploaded? Tried to leave it as near CD quality as possible.
Re: My memory sucks In the beginning of the first episode, Esteban is first seen running out of the cathedral's doors with someone calling after him, then he runs down the street holding up his blue (ecclesiastical?) robes and smiling - the music that plays then IS the "To Follow" music.
So we both like the same two pieces, eh?
As for the quality, it sounds reasonable - very much the same as the MP3s floating around on DivX sets.
Re: My memory sucks Yep, that is the "To Follow" music. My favourite bit is in the second half, when it starts sounding like our other favourite bit, Esteban's Adventure.
The MP3s on the DivX discs I got were all in one folder on one disc, and the quality varied of all of them - some of them still had sound FX in them, but no voices.
Re: My memory sucks I wonder if someone just ripped them straight from the show then. There is a good collection of audio files on this site: http://www.citesdor.com/ incase anyone doesn't know. Go to the musiques section and click on one of the pictures of an LP or CD to get to the tracks.
