Link List This post if for making a list of all the mysterious cities of gold webpages that we know about. Please also give a brief description of what is on the page.
English MCOG Websites:
http://www.themysteriouscitiesofgold.com/ - This is one of the best pages to check if you want to know what collectables are available to do with the series. A lot of information and a webmaster who will happily respond to queries.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mysterious_Cities_of_Gold - Wikipedia's page on the MCOG series. Includes a brief summary of the series and what it was called in different places. Also contains this link list after I updated it the other day.
http://www.whimsy.demon.co.uk/gold/ - Another large English site. Has a good number of screen grabs of the show and a comprehensive episode guide. Also has a brief introduction to the show and one or two sound files including the English and French themes.
http://www.mysteriouscitiesofgold.com/ - My favourite present all round site. It has a good collection of everything. It is slightly lacking in the collectables area but this and themysteriouscitiesofgold page above make good partners. You can also try and find the city of gold that is hidden on this site. Has the best music collection to be found on an English page.
http://home.ptd.net/~crimson/ - Another nice English site. This site includes an interview with the English actress who played Zia (in the English version). Also has a break down of who each character with a brief description.
http://mcog.32x.de/index.html - An English site that has the intro and ending videos available to download and also makes one episode available each week to download.
http://mcogold.sourceforge.net/ - The show has also been used a the basis of a game for a University Project. Probably discontinued as the page has not been updated in a while. Still interesting to have a look at.
http://www.davidmbaker.f2s.com - My webspace. Presently has a comparision of my Sony 2004 French release to Tim Skutt's version of MCOG. Also has a lot of screen grabs off my French DVD. Will be taken down at some point and replaced with a proper site but still a long time off yet.
http://mcog.twosx.net - A site which has the lower resolution videos available for the first 23 episodes. He is adding the other episodes as he gets them. See the MCOG weekly site to find a link to the video codec used.
http://torrentspy.com/download.asp?id=405682 - A link to the torrent for downloading the 7gb version of MCOG that averages around 200Mb per episode. Presently unseeded but a few people I know plan on rectifying that soon.
http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0122356/ - Information on the series from IMDb. Gives a list of people who voiced certain people and also contains some user comments.
http://home.comcast.net/~skutt/mcog.html - Tim Skutt's Website. Offers an 8 DVD version of the show. This version he mastered himself by adding the English audio to on the whole Japanese pictures. Also includes any deleated scenes editted back in.
http://www.lescitesdor.com/entree.html - Has some good pictures including some of the French books that where released. Also has information about the possible sequel.
http://www.enfants-du-soleil.org/ - Home page of the French fan club. Issues a magazine on the series occasionally and also organises trips to locations from the show.
http://www.nemoprod.net/anime/dvd/mco/mco.php - This site has a comparission of some of the different French versions of the show that are available. In particular the Sony 2000 and 2001 releases and the CDiscount 2001 release.
http://fansdescitesdor.free.fr/ - Another good french page has some music and some large pictures for use as desktops. Also includes an interesting section that compares places and statues and some items in the series to the real life inspirations.
http://membres.lycos.fr/yannickt/mco/ - An interesting site that looks at the real world physics that is talked about in the series. Has some interesting pictures but none of the download links work.
http://stbaron.free.fr/ - Has an interesting comparission between what certain characters sound like in the French and English versions. Also has a few small video clips from the show.
http://www.citesdor.com/ - Very good sound archieve for the series. Most of the themes will sound familar to European or American listeners, though for the Japanese version they used different music.
http://www.geocities.jp/omoide_box/ - An interesting site again with a lot of details on the items available. Translates well enough with babelfish to be understandable.
http://pierrot.jp/title/esteban/ - This site contains a small amount of information of some of the characters and one or two other details. I believe it belongs to the company that originally animated the series.
http://mcogweekly.conforums3.com/index.cgi - This forum has 3 or 4 active members. It is the forum that connects to the MCOG weekly site. A good place to go if you are trying to find a copy of mysterious cities of gold.
Canada also has a French version available but it's quality is not very good. Also there are Japanese versions but they are hard to track down. None of these other versions include an English soundtrack or subtitles in any languages.
Re: Link List You should add this message board to your link list. I'll also go add the link for your page on the other message board I posted this list at.
EDIT: Also your url has gone a bit strange. Here is the proper one:
Re: Link List I never noticed I could register in the past. Was not really looking. I have registered now. What benefits does it give? I only recently got to know about that site.
Re: Link List Hey, thanks... But what exactly is wikipedia?
I have tried to use addme.com; but it does not seem to show up on search engines when I search for my page?
As for adding yourself to search engines from what I understand the free methods can often take a little time.
Here is the URL for adding your site to yahoo which is used as the list not only for their search engine but as far as I understand Google, Altavista and probably others. http://submit.search.yahoo.com/free/request
