Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Went to see this film yesterday (oh it's gone midnight, I should get to bed, make that Sat) it was great fun.

(Possible Spoilers past this point. No plot spoilers just references to certain scenes.)

I was suprised at how many adult relate jokes there are. Towards the end Wallace ends up nude and to help him keep his dignity Gromit hands him a box which he promptly puts on. The funny thing is on the side of the box it says 'May contain nuts'. Another bit had the trousers on the 'bad guy' get caught on a weather vane and get pulled down at which point there is a comment about 'the moon'. Another point the were-rabbit is about to fall off the roof which gets the remark 'look out there might be rabbit droppings'. It was full of these sort of comments the whole way through. Im suprised it still got a U rating. Highly recommended. One of the best films I have seen in a while.

It has topped the US charts! It's a shame some of the sets were destroyed in that fire recently.

None of the ones for the new film where only ones for the other 3 old feature films. The new films ones are all out on tour somewhere. Still a great many good bits of work where lost in that fire which is sad. Though I thought the comments of Nick Park where very apt about there was more major disasters in the world that make such a loss pale into insignificance. Morph and the Lurpack man where both in that fire. Morph I am sure a lot of us remember from the Tony Hart art programs.

Yeah Morph, what was the other one called? The one made with white plastacine?

That Lurpak man got replaced with a hot cafe shop owner woman!

Do they even have Lurpak in the US?

Animated films do take a lot of time. I wonder how long it took to animate the entire MCoG season. I expect that was a fairly long job too. I seem to remember the originals (W&G) took about 6 months to produce so it might well have been that sort of length of time. It was a good film though. Get to see another film tomorrow. One of my friends is jealous as he is a bigger fan than me and had overlooked the fact it was coming out so never tried to get tickets. My friend I normally go to the cinema with insisted on the first day of showings. At the 9:00pm one so might give some very late night feedback on it. If I am not shattered. HP incase anyone hasn't figured it out yet. emoticon
