my pathetic attempt at a sequal

Its nowhere near finished, but ive attempted to write a sequal, I've tried to keep continuity with the show as well as avoid what the children did by setting it the future. Well here goes:

It has been 3 years since the first City of Gold was found and destroyed, and 3 familiar figures sit in a familiar tavern in Barcelona…
“So Mendoza, tell us again about the Cities of gold” an eager townsman asked.
“Well-”
“I think I should answer that!” Pedro said whilst standing up from his seat. “The Cities of Gold are-” Suddenly he was cut off from the sound of screaming outside “hey what’s going on?” he said.
“A giant golden bird! A giant golden bird” they heard from outside, everyone in the bar quickly got up and went outside.
“Well, it looks like our friends are back” Mendoza smirked; the 3 men walked out of the tavern, each knew exactly what was happening.
They followed the crowd to the centre of the town which overlooked the docks, the Golden Condor landed dead on in the middle, people looked in astonishment as it touched down, they made a circle around the bird and eagerly looked on to see who the passengers where. Mendoza, Pedro and Sancho got to the front of the circle and went forward, suddenly the beak of the bird lifted down to reveal the ****pit, 3 children could be seen. The crowd fell silent, Mendoza let out a bellowing laugh.
“So, Esteban, Child of the Sun has returned!” he shouted out, confused murmurs erupted in the crowd.
“Mendoza!” he shouted down, a huge smile was on his face. The children got down from the Condor to greet their old friends.
“Is that really Esteban Child of the Sun?” one of the townsfolk asked.
“Of of coarse it it is! Sancho turned around and said sternly to the bemused woman.
“So, Esteban, you’ve finally retuned, I was worried you forgot about our deal” Mendoza said to him.
“Hello Mendoza, it’s been a long time hasn’t it? He replied, Zia and Tao where behind him they gave the men a smile. “Me, Zia and Tao have travelled the world! It was so amazing wasn’t it?”
“It sure was Esteban!” Zia said. By now the crowd where still looking at the fabulous bird, a few of them had gone back to what they where doing.
“So, Esteban old buddy old pal, have you found any more Cities of Gold?” Pedro slyly asked.
“That’s what we have come back for; Tao thinks he's found a clue to the next city!”
“Ah I knew it! How about that Sancho, another City of Gold!”
“Tha that’s am-am-amazing!” he stammered.
“Yes, I think the encyclopaedia has given me a clue to where the next one is!” Tao answered, just as he said that a green parrot landed on his shoulder. “Ah Kukoupedle! This little guy has been through thick and thin.” He said whilst tickling the bird under its chin. By now all the townsfolk had dissipated, leaving the 6 reunited friends back next to their transport, just as they where all those years ago.
“Well Esteban you’ve grown, and you too Zia.” Mendoza pointed out. “So Tao, what’s this about then?” he asked.
“Well I think the key to all 7 cities are in this book, its just a matter of finding the right clues, the next city is located somewhere to the south, on the Continent of Africa, or so I understand.” He thoughtfully replied.
“So so what are we we waiting for? Lets g-go!” Sancho enthusiastically said.
“Yeah so it’s settled then, we’ll go and find the Second City of Gold!” Pedro triumphantly said. And it was settled; the 6 friends set off to find the second city, just as they did some 4 years ago.

“Did you hear that? They’ve found the second city!” a dark figure quietly said.
“Loud and clear sir, we’ll get them this time, ooh they wont get away so easily now we know where to look!” a second figure replied, they where hiding behind a nearby building listening in on the conversation. They turned and gave each other an evil smirk, then slipped away down an alley.
The Giant Golden Condor lifted its head and wings gracefully, then suddenly let off a blinding burst of pure light, it had fully charged. It lifted off the ground like a helicopter and shot off towards the sea at full speed.
“Wow its great to be back together eh Esteban?” Pedro said.
“Yes it is, right Zia?”
“Yes you are right, while we where gone I’d never imagined I’d miss you 3 for a second, but after being with you for so long I’ve come to trust you.” Zia admitted to the 3 men. “By the way, what have you 3 been up to?” she asked, Pedro and Sancho looked at each other with Mendoza in the middle.
“well, heh, we’ve been er, working at the Tavern, yeah isn’t that right Sancho?”
“ya-ya-of course hehehe” he nervously replied, all 3 men didn’t want to tell the children they had amassed a fortune with the gold they recovered from the last city.
“Yes, and I’ve been navigating the boats out of the harbour into dangerous fishing areas, it seems my colleagues here have hung up their sailing boots” he said and looked sternly at Sancho and Pedro, they realised they had given the wrong answer.
“So where are we going?” Pedro said to change the subject quickly.
“Well my encyclopaedia says here that clues to the next city lie in the South, and I have a suspicion that it’s somewhere on the African Continent, specifically in Egypt.”
