RPS - fan fiction taken a step further

Hmmm.. just out of curiousity... as I do some role playing online here - different in many cases from normal role playing as it's totally written -

How many here would role play the Mysterious Cities of Gold?
Be it set from the series or after the series ... or even nowadays with us as the new Children of the Sun in search for the cities?

I would. ^^ I would like to have done an RP on the AnimeNations board, but obviously next to no one there has heard of this.

Another idea would be a prequel, involving either the mysterious wanderer or the Hiva and Atlantis cultures. Of course, it would not be too cut and dry to set either up.

Also, while trying to think of how to do a MCO RP on the AN boards, I was thinking of an alternate-reality idea, where people would follow the general idea of having the various Children meet each other, then RP the journey to find each of the Cities, but it wouldn't be quite as useful here, as it was designed for people who hadn't seen MCO. Well, maybe there's some possibility?

I had on Yahoogroups the idea of a modren story RPG based on fans of the series going in search of the Cities of Gold. But... didn't get very many people who were posting often.
This was based on a fan fic idea I had a few years ago. Just not all that good with writing fan fiction.

Most of what I know would be easily accessable via Yahoogroups.. to post, add pictures & more.

But those would be some interesting ideas as well... the prequel parts.

I know on Yahoogroups there are a few chat lists.
Why not RPS?

You mean MCoG 2K? I thought that sounded pretty interesting from the description, but I never got to looking at it. But I'd be interested in doing something...

(As for fanfics, yeah, I'd be writing something myself, but the motivation to put off my work has yet to surface. Doesn't mean a review of what I've got would hurt.)

So, how would such a Yahoo groups RPG be done?

A Yahoogrops RPS/RPG is mostly just back & forth writing. Not too much, but not too little. Just enough for interaction between players. Kinda like writing a story that is improv as we go like real life. Posts are usually done around once to 3 times daily. Mostly once. & you can post whenever you like.

Interaction as to plenty fo spce to allow for a person's reaction or for someone to respond. Not forcing someone into a direction, but guiding. Discussing a plot is highly advised ahead of it.

I have a new group call the OAG - Online Actors Guild - for people who role play online, writing these types of stories. Also meant for people wanting to learn or sharpen their skills as a role player online to become more an Online Actor.

But... the general posting of tMCoG could be rather easy, depending upon what would be done as far as storyline such as from the series, or post series.. or more like us fan going off on our own little tMCoG adventure like MCoG2k.
