Re: GNR 2009
I expect there will be thousands going (as usual). you won't be running on your own.

Re: GNR 2009
I'm delighted to say that I can now hang up my half-marathon shoes Been there, done that and got 2 T-shirts to prove it Max 10k from hereon in!
I had a brilliant day yesterday and met some amazing people (inc 2 RFRC runners - Elise & Sharon who also ran and took me back to Aunty Joyce's for tea in Tyneside after the race ) It was very hot and runners were dropping like flies with far too many ambulances having to make their way along the course (it was like a parting of the waves every time you heard a siren!) I decided very early on to relax and enjoy the day. Time was not important and I finished 2hrs 49mins & 55seconds after crossing the start line (about 35 minutes after the claxon sounded). All the training was well worth it as I felt so much better at the end of the race than I did last year! I was also treated to a leg massage in the hospitality tent at the finish
When all the money is in I expect to have raised in excess of £750 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Huge thanks for all your support and especially to my training buddy, Louise.
I'll be collecting sponsorship on Wednesday....
Thanks again
Dawn x

Re: GNR 2009
For those with a strong consitution, photo's of the event can be viewed at:
http://media.greatrun.org/index.php?page=search&date=2009
Participant no is 50517 and race is the last one on the drop down menu
I’ve named them: the agony, the energy, the ugly & the ecstasy!

Re: GNR 2009
Good work, Dawn. It looks like you had a great time and came in strongly. Are you sure you want to hang up your half marathon shoes just yet?
