Re: New Forest Marathon 2009

I said that I wouldn't do this one again but the idea of training in a group again does appeal - it worked so well last year for me. Maybe I could run the full at New Forest followed by the half in Amsterdam?

That's my itinerary, Mike. New Forest Full and Amsterdam Half.

I'm looking forward to the group training! emoticon

And Cathy, remember how much fun it was last year.

Ok yeah I fancy doing this as well - assuming that comedy achilles don't give out before then!

Cheers

Having had a chat with Cath earlier, I guess that we both know that we're going to end up going back! All I've got to do now is get my back used to the idea!

Won't be able to do the first Sunday run though as I'll be cycling the Devon Coast to Coast with the RFRC cycling group that weekend. Might have a problem with the second one too - it's the Midsummer Dream the previous day!

Re: New Forest Marathon 2009

As we are fast approaching the time when we will need to start training in anger - Monday 8th June if we stick to the 16 week schedule used last year, can I suggest that those who are interested in joining the training group meet up in the Coal Orchard after the Wednesday run on 3rd June.

I am hoping that "coach" Mike will be joining us again this year to keep us on the straight and narrow.

It would also be good to try and expand the group to include those of you who are planning to run the Amsterdam marathon, however, it would mean you starting your training schedule a few weeks early - perhaps Mike will be able to share his thoughts on this.

Anyway, if you feel you would like to join us for those long Sunday runs and interval training on Wednesdays, come aong on the 3rd.

I would like to join too.

I am thinking of doing Dublin, and company on the longer runs would be good.

Now that I have a diagnosis re my back (which is positive, I'm pleased to say) I can now confirm that I will be joining you. I'm happy to do the 'coach' bit and look forward to seeing you all in the Coal Orchard at 7.45ish on Wed 3 June.

I'm sure that the Amsterdam folk will benefit from the Wednesday interval sessions and I think it best that we tell folk how far we are planning to run each Sunday and if anyone wants to join us then they'd be very welcome to do so.

It'll be good to have you on board, Richard.

Sandra - I really will have to speak to you about buying a calendar! :-)
