Having suggested that Sandra gets a calendar, I clearly need to do so too!

Will see you at the meeting on the 3rd!

I have just entered Dublin. I have optimistically entered the 'sub 3.30' category even though my fastest ever time is 3.36, and for almost all the last 6 or so marathons have been between 3.36 and 3.38.

I have put my faith in our training group to get faster

btw I cannot master these smileys. My last one was supposed to be after an exclaimation mark on the final sentence. No exclaimation mark and the smiley was in the wrong place. I need IT as well as marathon training!

Saw the physio recommended by Richard this morning and have patella tendonitis emoticon so off running for a while. Could be fixed in c. 3 weeks so hopefully will not fall too far behind with the training....
Good luck everyone else and see you soon!
Peter

That's a bit scary, Richard - putting your faith in the training group, I mean! emoticon

Good luck with the knee, Peter. Hope to see you back soon.

As for me, I've just been warned by the physiotherapist what I guess I already knew - that running long distances isn't good for my back! Guess the longer runs could become bike rides!

Peter, sorry to hear you are out for a few weeks. At least it seems that it wont take long to sort, and the marathon programmes are designed to include a few injury weeks.
That physio is very good - just make sure you stretch loads (if asked to) as he gets a bit 'arsey' if he thinks you haven't been doing them enough.
I expect he told you, but if you are cross training dont do the breast stroke, as it puts a lot of pressure on the knees. Crawl is ok.
Good luck, Richard

Sorry to hear that Pete. However, even with a few weeks off you will probably still be faster than me!!!! emoticon

Talking about knees, mine seem to have got better since Wednesday session, although that could be because my leg muscles are aching so much I cant feel my knee pain!
