Trickey Warren Trek

Summerfield are sponsoring 'The Trickey Warren Trek' in aid of The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. The event takes place on Sunday 20th September 2009 and will be suitable for all abilities.

All races start and finish at the same spot and all are considered multi-terrain, and in parts quite rough underfoot. Therefore probably the most appropriate footwear would be terrain type shoes but certainly not spikes as we have to cross a small tarmaced area.

The Fun Run is designed for all ages and levels of fitness even children and is on relatively flat land.

The 4k is obviously more of a test but is not particularly hilly and I would suggest that the 10k is definitely for the seasoned runner. It is rough going, some beautiful forest track a little of it hilly and there is weather dependent, the possibility of soft fields.

"Suitable for all levels of fitness...even children" - I got overtaken by a 5 year old with legs a fifth of the size of mine in Race for Life on Sunday. I'm not sure I could endure that kind of humiliation again!

the good thing about being 5"6 is that no one over the age of 2 has legs one fifth of the size of mine.
