New Group 1B. Wot ya think!
The gap between group 1 to group 2 is a huge leap, yet there are runners in gr2 that are too fast for that group but not quite up to scratch to make the transition over to 1. By creating an iterim group you would also take the fast gr3 runners to gr2 because they would not feel so pressured. Although this may take runners away from the alreadt small gr1 it could after a few months increase gr1 as people get up to spped and fitness. What do you all think???

Re: New Group 1B. Wot ya think!
I think this is a great idea. It's a difficult because, as you say that there is a huge leap between 1 and 2. The only thing I would say is that all g1 runners without exception are more than happy to loop.

Re: New Group 1B. Wot ya think!
Personally I think the club has got enough official groups, if group 1 want to split into separate groups on the nights fine, but its unofficial. as I see it the only problem in group 1 is the people that get looped not the people doing the looping, so if the people doing the looping are happy to them please let them.

i also think we should stick to what we have now, or there will be a problem with all the groups faster runners jumping up a group with others following and upsetting the balance.

I take your point Malc, perhapse what we really should be doing is getting more of the quicker G2 runners into G1, where they should have been after the time trial. It will help to 'regulate' the pace a little better (my fault as much as anyone else's) and free up runners from lower groups to move up.
