A call for more group 1 runners

Hi

It seems that many group 1 runners have decided to drop down into g2. Can I please ask that they return? All runners presently in g1 are mor ethan happy to loop back and it will save original g2 runners from being pushed too far.

Thanks Alex.

As a group 2 runner its nice to be pushed ocassionally and run with the elite of rfrc! BUT i think some group 2 runners are now dropping down to group 3, and maybe the faster of group 3 might be put off moving up a group. i agree it would be a good idea to re-shuffle the groups a bit?

I think I ran in group 2 last week but picked the clower group as I had been on holiday for a couple of weeks. I do plan on returning! Although I think that last weeks 'group 2' was mainly made up of that second group that forms at the back of 1 anyway which is kind of like an extra group

Can I second Alex's comment. Sometimes in group 1 there are only 2 or three people (we get very lonely you know!) and it would be nice to have more runners!! We really don't mind looping!

Serves you right for being so fast.

You don't get lonely in Group 4. There are lots of lovely people to run with there.

I think this will always be a bit of a problem when you have a group of a few who are so much faster than everyone else.

It's also fair to say that whilst the faster guys in group one are happy to loop they are also pretty competitive and do on occasions treat the Wednesday evening 'training session' as a interval session. I wonder if this may put some of the other slower group one runners off.

Maybe if the 'quick boys' were to treat the run as a training run and drop the competitive element a tad that would encourage the slower group one runners to return?

I think people are just experiencing that post-marathon lull and things will even out again pretty soon.

Don't slow down group 1 - we all need something to aim at! I personally like using Sunday as a distance run, Wednesday to push and Friday as recovery. I don't know what others do?

Cheers - John

Yeah that's pretty much what I do John. I think the looping thing on a weds makes it ideal for quick running/intervals. Each to his own though I guess. I just hope people don't run in group one because they think they have to run faster than normal to avoid making us loop!

I have recently joined group 1 and would have run with them last night, but for a minor back injury, incurred whilst mud wrestling (it was fun, thanks).
