Re: 10k Improvers
After a pb in the Taunton 10k eh?? Well from what i have read there are two key parts. One is you need to do lots of speed work ie intervals, tempo runs etc. Second you should include plenty of hill work as this builds strength and running at 10k pace is partly strength related. I read all this in the latest issue of Running Fitness magazine. The other thing I guess is do plenty of running at your target 10k pace or quicker to get your legs used to that cadence. Hope this helps.

Re: 10k Improvers
As Ricky says.
Speed training really make a difference on your time, it's hard work but it pays! ALSO listen to your body, some time you also need to ease up or you will get injured and it will mess up your training plan. Always stretch after a run, it will help your muscles. Occasionly go off road, it's better on your body, especially knees and it help your road running.
Have fun!
NB: I wouldn't do Hill session and speed work in the same week.
There is so many different way and rule (like don't do 2 hard sesions in a row)
you'll have to see what fit best around your lifestyle.
What time will you be aiming for?
Good Luck, Sophie
NB2: what don't you guys training for the 10K start a training thread and write down your session (and goal?). You could see who is doing what and would be good for motivation. Just a thought anyway.
