Re: RESULTS 2009

Ilminster 10k. Sunday 1st nov.

A good turn out from the club despite a very wet and windy start to the day. The rain stopped about 10, ready for a 10.30 start. The first 5k climbed up hill through waterlogged lanes, with mud and debris running off the fields. The final 5k, although gently descending back into Ilminster seemed into wind, whichever direction we were going. 17 RFRC members are listed on the results site and are as follows.

   41st Jo porter 44.17
   54th Sally Tovey 45.41
   60th Kirsty McMakin 46.13
   82nd Malcolm Hutchings 48.16
   104th Martin Mathias 50.55
   107th Sarah Anderson 51.10
   133rd Peter Williams 54.00
   139th El Palfreman 54.31
   141st Sallie Durman 54.33
   150th Haidee Pine 55.35
   161st Philip Hicks 56.45
   168th Cherry Eggleston 57.27
   182nd Hannah Lawson 58.48
   186th Phill Terry 59.08
   191st Joanne Toogood 59.39

Re: RESULTS 2009

Cheddar Half marathon Nov 7th.

A big club turnout for this one. A pretty flat course and decent running conditions although a few sections of the course had a strong headwind which was tough going. Results as follows:

4th Alex Abrams 1.18.50 PB (club record)
5th Richard Palmer 1.19.46 PB
13th Nick Cutler (chucked up half way round!)1.23.27
23rd Jonathan Sykes 1.26.49 PB
70th Martin Kemp 1.36.05
75th Jo Porter 1.36.54 PB (club record)
94th Kirsty McMakin 1.40.02
111th John Ward 1.43.43
116th Martin Matthias 1.44.37
190th Sandra Williams 1.59.10

There were 271 finishers. The men took away the male team prize (beers and pint glass set each plus a trophy each) and me and Alex picked up trophies for our 4th and 5th positions. There were some big smiles on the way home!!

Re: RESULTS 2009

Thanks for the very vocal support Claire. Speaking personally I was pretty dead on my feet at 12m so it was a good pick-me-up (although I might not have shown my gratitude at the time!).
