Skindles

This from the Maidenhead Advertiser:

"DERELICT eyesore Skindles hotel has been sold to property developers as part of a £30.25m deal which will see neighbouring New Taplow Paper Mill close by the end of October.
St Regis Paper Company Ltd, which owns the 45-acre site, announced yesterday (Wednesday) land including of the paper mill site, Skindles and the Severnside paper recycling depot has been sold to developer Watchword - a subsidiary of Towntalk Ltd."

Skindles is where Charteris wrote a number of Saint stories and indeed, features in a couple.

Assuming I recover from my holiday I shall be on BBC Radio Berkshire on Tuesday talking about the site's literary heritage.
