Do You Have a Favourite?

To pick one episode is difficult, because firstly, I haven't seen them since their first UK broadcast, way back in 1989/90.

Secondly, I’ve only ever watched four, and they seemed to move at the pace of the average garden snail.

Still… 'Fear in Fun Park,' with Sydney Harbour as a back drop and a nudge, nudge, wink, wink to past times, in the shape of a red Volvo, is, I think, the best of a bad bunch.

Hello, I'm new here. I am a fan of Simon Dutton but have never seen him in the Saint movies (don't beat me up anyone emoticon ) I hope to catch them here on BBCA or when they get released on DVD.

Thanks! Simon would make a great Bond just like his predecessor Mr. Moore. JMHO. Anyone know about how old he is? (Simon that is) Just curious.

Simon Dutton has very similar qualities to Tim Dalton; they both have a kind of mean and moody look, which suits the characters of both Templar and Bond.

As to Simon’s age, I haven’t a clue, but I think his birthday is in early December.

Well, what tricks the mind can play on you! My only defence is that it’s been eighteen years since I last watched any of the Dutton Saint films.

To put the record straight, the Volvo 1800 featured in Fear in Fun Park is Grey, and appears in the film before the main chase scene. It is owned by a woman whom Simon first meets at Sydney Airport.

… And I no longer think this is the best of a bad bunch! Although the locations and cinematography are good, the script is very poor and the plot doesn’t make that much sense – it’s been said that it was written as it was being filmed, and boy doesn’t it show.

By contrast, The Brazilian Connection is so much better. Watching it again after so many years made me wonder why it received such bad press reviews – or maybe I’ve just mellowed with age.
