Your Favourite Three Non Charteris Novels and Short Stories?
For me the pick of the bunch are:
1. The Saint and the Templar Treasure
2. The Saint and the Hapsburg Necklace
3. The Saint - Burl Barer's novelisation
Some might find the last one a strange choice. The reason, if I ever needed one, is simple - I read an American copy of the book a couple of weeks before seeing the film, and so found the film to be a bit of a disappointment, and the ending an anti-climax. The book is very well written and there are some good saintly moments, the only negative for me is the amount of hidden Saint connections, which I think he added for the benefit of fans - just a little overdone for my taste.

I think I'd substitute People Importers for no. 3

That's a very good story as well. I travel on the back road between Datchet and Colnebrook quite often, and I always think of that book.
