The Saint at the Wheel
With Simon’s proposed revival in modern day New York, I wondered what car you would like to see the Saint driving.
Given Templar’s past automotive links I’ve listed a couple of vehicles, from the Jaguar and Volvo marques, that the Saint might consider appropriate - but if you can think of any others, feel free to add a post with a picture.
Vote for your favourite now.

Re: The Saint at the Wheel
I voted for the C70 - it may not have the class of the Jag, or the out and out looks, but it is still a beautiful car.
The C30 is just too small, and I don't think it looks the part as the Saint's transport.

Re: The Saint at the Wheel
Very Difficult to Argue against the Jaguar as its a fabulous looking car and im sure it would be great, However....it just seems a little too obvious for my liking. The P1800 and Jensen Interceptor i think were both inspired choices. I'll have to give this one some thought before i post my choice!

Re: The Saint at the Wheel
In my opinion, for the 'new' Saint, I would be happy if his choice of car would be one of the following:
1. A dark grey Jaguar XK-R [modern day 'mighty Hirondel']
2. Audi RS4/S5 http://www.seriouswheels.com/2008/2008-Audi-S5-Rear-And-Side-1024x768.htm
3. Maserati GranTurismo [modern day Furilliac] http://www.seriouswheels.com/2007/2007-Maserati-GranTurismo-Side-1280x960.htm
4. Volvo C70
5. 2008 Nissan GTR http://www.seriouswheels.com/2005/2005-Nissan-GT-R-PROTO-Concept-S-1280x960.htm [my favourite choice, humble background like Volvo, vast motorsport pedigree(Volvo had rallying), but still seen as an 'outsider'compared to the established brands i.e. Porsche,Ferrari in terms of image. Just as the Volvo P1800 was compared with the 'exotics' of its day e.g. Jaguar E-Type, the same can be applied today with the Nissan GTR. Make no mistake, the GTR won't make the same impact as the P1800 did, that wil remain synominous with the Saint, however, the GTR, IMO is closer in spirit to the 'mighty Hirondel', which Leslie Charteris based on the 1930 Lagonda M45 Rapide, a race car of its day.
From the above recommendations there are no obvious predictable choices {Jaguar XKR being the exemption] i.e. BMW, Mercedes or Porsche. However, to make a similar cult impact as the P1800 did, give ST a Subaru B111S. Trust me, do a Google search and take in the styling combination of the current Maserati Coupe and BMW 6 series Coupe. Very reminescent of what Volvo was trying to achieve with the P1800, 50's Ferrari front end and Cadillac / Ford Thunderbird Fintails. Plus, Subaru has a similar image that Volvo has, safe, utiltarian, reliable, rally succsess, unique engine design [boxer engines]all they need is a luxury GT Coupe, like Volvo needed.

The GranTurismo is a real work of art.

Keep checking the news at http://www.lesliecharteris.com
Hoppy has let slip that it might soon be posting details of Simon’s latest set of wheels.

Re: The Saint at the Wheel
How about the new Connaught Type D Hybrid? Its eco friendly too!
• V10 petrol / electric engine
• Capable of 42mpg
• 0-60mph in 6.2 seconds
• Top speed around 150mph
The film could possibly do for Connaught what the P1800 did for Volvo for it's sales - especially in the U.S.
