Re: The Saint at the Wheel
Cant really argue against any of the choices everyones picked out so far...but, as time has progressed the Good Old Jag has evolved into a stylish car (though i didnt like it to begin with!!) Just imagine a superb, mint condition with updated instruments and interior...I think it would certainly be stylish if perhaps not practical!
It took 30 years, but at last the XJ-S looks right, and especially as a convertible. For decades this car, with its baffling mix of art-deco detailing and gothic architecture, was the socially inept computer programmer in the kitchen at a party. But now it's reclining on the sofa and smouldering irresistably.
As we know, all Jags improve with age, often after a period in style limbo during which they are no longer fashionable but not yet old enough to be true classics. But the XJ-S is exceptional because it was so unloved when it was new. Everyone denounced it as an unworthy successor to the E-type, and for some time it looked like becoming the only black mark in Jaguar's history.
But no. Look at it. It's gorgeous. If you're in any doubt, consider this: I've just bought one, and as I cruise along I leave a wake of swooned women behind me, even in my cardigan. I often return to it and have to spend several minutes swatting bikini-clad lovelies from its bonnet.

Re: The Saint at the Wheel
Well, I am happy if the Maserati GT makes it as the wheels for ST.
In my previous post, I mentioned this and my personel favourite, the Nissan GTR which I believe would really reflect the Saint's character i.e. International, high class thief behind the wheel of a 'new'supercar which has proven that it is better than its more expensive and well established rivals. Humble Nissan would have had the perfect platform with this new film to market the GTR in all its worldwide markets. In the present climate, Maserati has made a great resurgence in markets that before showed very low sales. In the USA and Middle East and across Europe, Maserati is once again cool.
So, I'm happy that ST drives an elegant, romantic GT,[I would love to see ST parked up on the side of Mountain road above Monte Carlo with the gorgeous Patricia Holm and the sun setting down behind the Maser or GTR]. At least its not the obvious German choice's and I hope its a Gun Metal grey in colour.

Re: The Saint at the Wheel
Well as the saint is a cosmopolitan connoisseur, patron "saint" of lost causes and above all a consummate gentleman, in my opinion I’d suggest perhaps:
1) TVR Tuscan S convertible, the most understated of all TVRs yet with style that doesn't scream and crave attention….. and is affordable.
2) The Mercedes SL65 AMG, curvaceous yet sleek combining elegance with outstanding performance, a true missile to right the wrongs for any saintly deed.

Re: The Saint at the Wheel
You’re right of course – it looks much better in blue, black, or silver!
The pictures above are of a press/demo car that’s doing the rounds, so given Maserati’s limited production, (total of about 9,000 cars a year – all types) I thought it might be handed over to the producers for filming work.
