NEW YORK - (Business Wire) RHI Entertainment announced today that the four-hour original miniseries The Summit will premiere during the RHI Movie Weekend on the ION Television Network Sunday, June 15 (7/6c). Airing in its entirety in one night, The Summit stars Christopher Plummer (Syriana); Bruce Greenwood (Thirteen Days); Mia Maestro (Alias); James Purefoy (Rome); Rachelle Lefevre (Life on Mars); Peter MacNeill (The Stone Angel); Stephen McHattie (RHI’s Killer Wave); Wendy Crewson (ReGenesis); Nigel Bennett (The Border); and Lisa Ray (Water).
Geo-politics, bio-terrorism and international intrigue take center stage in The Summit, an all-too-real action drama that digs deeply into some of the timeliest issues making headlines today. In The Summit, massive preparations are underway for the annual G8 Summit meeting, taking place in Canada. With the Summit about to begin, a test meant to combat the threat of bio-terrorism goes terribly wrong and the infected test participants begin dying in alarming numbers.
