Harrison claims the last three Saint novels prior to Vendetta were ghosted: surely he is mistaken?
Also Harrison believes Charteris’ only input into the novel was an unnecessary piece about driving to a restaurant; this differs from Burl Barer’s understanding.
He also states that Leslie Charteris hated Italy, even though he had never been there, which surprised me.
Taken as a whole, Harry Harrison view of Leslie Charteris appears a little negative, he even gloats about a review, which claims Vendetta as the only Saint novel with a plot: but didn’t the initial plot come from Charteris anyway?
