That Saintly feeling but not the Saint

This thread will hopefully contain sooner rather than later some descriptions of movies that could have been a Saintly effort but is no Saint movie.

I'll start:

Lassiter (1984)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087589/

In this movie Tom Selleck stars as a jewelthief in 1939 London. The police decides to frame him in order to get him to commit a jewelheist for them. He has to rob the 3rd Reich of 10 million pound of untracable diamonds.
Tom Selleck looks grand in this era and is almost Saintly in his wandering and plotting through this London of pre-war style. His lady of choice is the young but breathtaking Jane Seymoore (Of 007 Live and let die fame) and she would have made a brilliant Patricia Holm.
The police in the person of Bob Hoskins is great and brutal, the Nazilady of choice is played by Lauren Hutton and she is more than a handfull and her lackey is the Gestapothug played by Warren Clarke (DI Dalziel).
This great cast makes a exiting movie that is fun to watch. If only the next power to make a Saintmovie or series would only have a look at this product and see how much fun a Simon Templar can have in a pre-war England or Europe for that matter.

Too bad that this movie is only a one of, it could have easily do a few more episodes.
This movie and High Road to China remain my favorite Tom Selleck movies.

Haven't seen this in years...thanks for reminding me of it.

Of course one of the reasons Andrew Clarke was hired as the Saint was because at the time he looked like Tom Selleck. Wonder if it was this movie that influenced Clarke's casting...

If it was they should have chosen Tom Selleck himself.
