i am doing ok, its still tough though.

i am halfway through the book, its hard to keep track of the events because it flits in and out lol, so i'm taking notes.

i know for sure she did not kill her child on purpose. it was either an accidental death (you might be wondering how that could happen, but i will reveal it all asap)

or she was set up by the orphanage who she was going to sign little reginald over to.

thanks bess.

i am just curious as to why the orphanage would want to do something like that. it doesnt make sense. and yes do tell how it could have been an accident. tis very strange as well.

wasnt he found by railroad tracks or something like that. i havent heard it in a long time so the whole story is still fuzzy to me.

True and British orphanages back then were NOT staffed by charm school graduates!

I am still reading but there are two endings, i cant remember which is the correct one, or if the book even tells you what happens lol.

Alice Mary Cleaver suffered from epilepsy, she was prone to sudden and very viscious seizures.
her baby, Reginald was the result of an affair with a married man. Alice could not afford to care for her child so an orphanage was the only option.
It had been arranged for him to go to a Catholic orphanage. Alice was supposed to meet the matron of the orphanage so she could hand little reggie over.

i cant remember the ins and outs. i will do some serious reading tomorrow but i think either, Alice had an epiletic fit and reg got flund out of the train......or the matron boarded the train with him and for some very cruel and unknown reason, killed him.

the matron that alice met was called Jessie Grey, however, when the orhanage was contacted, they didnt have anyone by that name working for them

Hi Bess...either way it's awful. If Alice had epilepsy it was certainly tragic and if Ms. Grey did it then poor Alice was framed...either way, I certainly sympathise and do not at all condemn her.

aye tis seems strange though that someone would go through so much trouble to cover things up.

also i think im still on the fence post bout this... i have read a few things over the years that have stuck in my head...

i too feel sorry for her for it wasnt easy raising a child but there are like i said a lot of unanswered questions so im still on the fence bout it.

Let's just say that I am keeping an open mind on the subject...

Hi Wills and Lights

I'm not really sure what i think about it.
I am interested in it now and i think i'll do some reseach of my own into it. the only thing i am 110% certain of is that this Alice was NOT the Alice Catherine Cleaver on Titanic - she is innocent of all charges emoticon
